Job summary
Washoe County School District in Nevada is seeking a full-time Preventive Maintenance Technician to perform a wide range of preventive maintenance on district facilities, including heating, ventilating, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, roofing and more. Duties include inspections, diagnostics, and ensuring life safety systems are operable.
The role requires hands-on skills, the ability to read drawings, adherence to safety standards, and flexibility with day, swing, or graveyard shifts.
Qualifications
- Two years of verifiable building maintenance experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing.
- Apprenticeship or HVAC diploma program completion.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
Responsibilities
- Inspect facilities and perform scheduled preventive maintenance on building systems.
- Test controls, lubricate equipment, replace belts and filters.
- Inspect and maintain roof systems and life safety systems.
- Diagnose and repair motors, control circuits, and HVAC components.
- Maintain safety and order in maintenance areas and document reports.
