Job summary

M.C. Dean seeks a Senior HVAC Mechanic to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC and central plant systems in a mission-critical environment. This role requires independent diagnosis of complex failures and guidance for junior technicians.

Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, coordinating shutdowns with leadership, and adhering to safety and procedural standards across challenging facilities in the Washington, DC area.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on HVAC/mechanical maintenance in commercial/industrial settings.
• High school diploma or GED; U.S. Citizenship for security access.
• Ability to interpret drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics; use diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive/corrective maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Coordinate approved shutdowns, restorations, and BAS changes with leadership.
• Follow lockout/tagout, electrical safety, hot-work, PPE, and refrigerant procedures.
• Meet government access/screening requirements; support shifts, overtime, weekends, outages, and emergencies.
• Perform field duties in mechanical rooms and on rooftops; document findings in InfraLink/CMMS.
