Job summary

Madison County Commission is seeking an experienced HVAC technician to perform service, maintenance and operation of air conditioning, heating and ventilating systems in county buildings. You will follow manufacturer specifications, consult contractors as needed, and work mostly in the courthouse with occasional assignments elsewhere.

The role requires at least five years of hands-on HVAC experience, a high school diploma with HVAC training, and universal refrigerant certification along with

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school with college level mechanical/electrical training.
• Five years’ experience in operation and maintenance of HVAC equipment.
• Universal Refrigerant Certification.
• Apprentice Plumbing and Gas Certification.
• Knowledge of safe operation of HVAC equipment.
• Ability to read plans and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Installs and maintains HVAC equipment.
• Starts and operates compressor units.
• Overhauls motors and checks pumps.
• Performs daily water treatment.
• Calibrates pressure gauges and related devices.
• Repairs wiring and controls using hand tools.
• Serves and repairs heating systems with air conditioning.
• Lubricates and replaces moving parts and components.
• Repairs plumbing fixtures and lines.
• Reads and interprets plans and drawings.
