Job summary

AAON, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician III to provide advanced diagnostics, installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC equipment at customer sites across the United States.

You will troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and controls systems, mentor junior technicians, and lead startup activities for new installations. In this role, you will work independently, collaborate with engineering and warranty teams, and ensure safety standards are consistently met

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• 6+ years of experience in HVAC service, field service, industrial maintenance, or a related technical field.
• Associate degree or technical training in HVAC/electrical/mechanical systems preferred.
• EPA Universal Certification required; additional HVAC/building automation certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced installation, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems and related equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and controls-related issues with minimal supervision.
• Serve as a technical resource for Field Service Technicians and internal support teams.
• Lead commissioning and startup activities for new equipment installations and major system upgrades.
• Conduct advanced evaluations and recommend corrective actions to optimize operation.
