Job summary

Ray and Son Heating and Air Conditioning is seeking an experienced HVAC Estimator to lead commercial projects including new construction, renovations, and design-builds from $1M to $10M. Projects include hotels, K-12 schools, and other commercial facilities across Nashville, Valdosta and surrounding areas.

You will perform takeoffs for HVAC, ductwork, piping and plumbing, assemble proposals, and review quotes. 5+ years in estimation and a mechanical engineering degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC project estimation.
• Mechanical Engineer degree desired.
• Ability to perform material and labor takeoffs to identify material quantities, labor hours, and cost.
• Competitive trade bids comparison experience.
• Attention to detail when analyzing blueprints to prepare accurate specific takeoffs.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) as conversions.
• Excellent knowledge of Electronic Takeoff Systems (AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Builder Trend, etc.).
• Ability to work independently and know when to consult other members of the team.
• Excellent communication skills (written/verbal).
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Must be highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Estimating Commercial Projects - New Construction / Design-Builds & Renovations.
• Estimating HVAC, duct work, Sheetmetal, Hydronic piping and Plumbing.
• Material and labor takeoffs to identify material quantities, labor hours, and cost.
• Assemble and submit proposals directly to clients.
• Review preliminary quotes and pre-bid estimates.
• Utilizing Electronic Takeoff Systems (AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Builder Trend, etc.)
