Solid Rock Recruiting, LLC. partners with an established mechanical contractor to hire an experienced Mechanical Estimator in Chicago. The role focuses on preparing accurate cost estimates and competitive bids for commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects.

You will review plans, perform takeoffs, coordinate with vendors and internal teams, and look for value engineering opportunities while supporting preconstruction and budgeting activities.

Formación

• Experience estimating commercial mechanical or HVAC projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with estimating software and construction technology is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Perform material and equipment takeoffs and develop bid proposals.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, GCs, and internal teams.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering and alternative designs.
• Support preconstruction, budgeting and project turnover activities.
• Assist with design/build and plan/spec estimating efforts.

We are working with an established mechanical contractor specializing in commercial HVAC construction, design/build, and plan/spec projects. Their work spans a variety of markets, including high-rise residential, multifamily, hotels, healthcare, institutional, and commercial construction.

The company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to support its growing project portfolio.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and competitive bids for commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects.

• Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine labor, material, and equipment requirements.

• Perform material and equipment takeoffs and develop detailed bid proposals.

• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, general contractors, and internal project teams.

• Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering and alternative system designs.

• Support preconstruction, budgeting, and project turnover activities.

• Assist with design/build and plan/spec estimating efforts.

Qualifications:

• Experience estimating commercial mechanical or HVAC construction projects.

• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, and mechanical equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

• Experience with material takeoffs, pricing, and bid preparation.

• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

• Familiarity with estimating software and construction technology is preferred.
