Cummings Properties in Woburn, MA is seeking a skilled HVAC Design Engineer to join our in-house Architectural/Engineering team. If you have 10+ years of experience and thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on design/build environment, this is your opportunity to make an impact.

You will collaborate with design, sustainability, purchasing, and construction teams to develop high-quality HVAC and piping systems for commercial and laboratory spaces, while focusing on energy efficiency and performance.

Qualifications

• Expertise in commercial and multi-family residential HVAC/mechanical systems—design, construction, and maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
• Excellent communication—graphic, written, and verbal.
• Massachusetts Mechanical Engineering license.
• AutoCAD proficiency preferred.
• Ability to visit local project sites, including roofs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design, sustainability, purchasing, and construction teams to develop high-quality HVAC and piping systems.
• Design and prepare fit-ups and whole building HVAC systems for commercial and laboratory spaces.
• Assess and enhance existing HVAC systems for energy efficiency and performance.
• Work on projects including new multi-story residential and commercial buildings and energy retrofits.
