Job summary

Virgin Galactic is seeking an HVAC Specialist to act as the senior technical authority for HVAC and building environmental control systems. You will own performance, reliability, and lifecycle planning across chillers, boilers, VRF/VRV, and BAS, while mentoring Facilities Technicians and coordinating with vendors on critical-environment reliability.

You will analyze BAS trends, optimize control sequences, and drive energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in commercial HVAC, building operations, or critical facilities maintenance.
• Advanced hands-on experience with HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, VRF/VRV, RTUs) and BAS programming/troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of humidification systems and critical environmental controls.
• Proven ability to perform minor electrical work and apply LOTO procedures.
• Experience mentoring or training junior technicians.
• Strong communication skills with facilities management and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Own performance, reliability, and lifecycle planning of complex HVAC equipment (chillers, boilers, VRF/VRV, air handlers).
• Diagnose and resolve complex HVAC failures; serve as escalation point for technicians.
• Analyze BAS trends and optimize control sequences; coordinate with Controls/IT and BAS vendors.
• Develop and audit PM schedules; track reliability KPIs and report trends.
• Mentor technicians on diagnostics, safety, and CMMS documentation.
• Coordinate HVAC-related capital projects and vendor quotes; ensure work meets specs.
