Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience with DDC, pneumatic, and variable frequency drive controls.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or related software.
  • EPA Universal Certification preferred.
  • OSHA Certification preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen; ability to obtain security clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC equipment including chillers, boilers, unit heaters, cooling towers, and pumps.
  • Operate, maintain, and upgrade Building Automation Systems (BAS) with DDC, pneumatic, and VFD controls.
  • Supervise and mentor junior technicians, providing technical guidance.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with contractual obligations related to mechanical services and maintenance.
  • Respond to after-hours and emergency service calls, including on-call rotations.

Job description

Join a leading provider of data center services as a Critical Systems Technician III, HVAC, based in Las Vegas, NV. This role is essential to ensuring the reliability and performance of mechanical systems supporting high-availability environments, such as data centers. As the lead technician, you will oversee the installation, maintenance, and operation of complex HVAC systems, mentor junior staff, and play a key role in upholding contractual commitments to clients. Responsibilities
  • Lead and perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on all HVAC equipment, including air and water-cooled chillers, centrifugal and screw package chillers, natural gas boilers, unit heaters, electric duct heaters, cooling towers, and various water pumps.
  • Operate, maintain, and upgrade Building Automation Systems (BAS), including DDC, pneumatic, and variable frequency drive controls.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior technicians, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all contractual obligations related to mechanical services and maintenance.
  • Respond to after-hours and emergency service calls as required, including participation in on-call rotations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and system performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor to support facility operations.
  • Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance as an essential function of the role.
Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of large commercial HVAC service experience required; 8 years preferred.
  • Completion of a basic air conditioning theory class.
