Job summary

Johnson Controls in Houston seeks a Sr Service Controls Technician to diagnose, repair and commission building automation systems with minimal supervision. You will mentor technicians, manage on-site service delivery, and provide professional, high-quality customer support to optimize system performance.

In this role you will handle complex troubleshooting, contribute to retrofits and upgrades, and coordinate with project teams while adhering to safety standards and delivering detailed service

Qualifications

• Minimum of six (6) years commercial controls troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
• Vocational School program graduate or associate's degree in a technical field, or two years’ experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems.
• Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs complex control systems malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of electronic or digital controls; tests and writes modifications.
• Provides field proposals for retrofits, upgrades, and enhancements; assists sales with technical recommendations.
• Mentors and trains technicians on building automation activities; coordinates with branch and project teams to ensure timely, quality work.
• Ensures safety standards are followed; communicates with customers on arrival and before leaving the site; delivers clear documentation and reports.
• Produces sketches of field changes for engineering corrections and participates in the creation of as-built drawings and software.
