Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Senior Controls Technician to support building automation service work that improves comfort, reliability, and efficiency on customer sites. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot complex control systems, install, commission, and document system configurations while mentoring junior technicians and coordinating with project teams.

Qualifications

• Vocational/Associate degree or two years of service experience in electronic or mechanical systems.
• Experience installing and servicing electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot HVAC control systems from schematics to sequences.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of HVAC and building automation systems.
• Diagnose complex malfunctions and troubleshoot across electronic and digital control systems.
• Program and configure control devices including PLCs and variable frequency drives.
• Support retrofits, upgrades, and technical recommendations for customers.
• Consult with customers, collect site data, and propose efficiency improvements.
• Mentor technicians and coordinate with project teams and customers.
• Prepare sketches, as‑built drawings, and operation documentation.
• Train customers on system operation and provide manuals and training materials.
• Maintain safe work practices and ensure documentation accuracy.
