AAON, Inc. is seeking a Controls Engineer IV to drive technical direction for electrical and HVAC control systems across complex projects. You will champion controls standards, guide design practices, and mentor engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable solutions.

The role emphasizes governance, innovation, and continuous improvement, with responsibilities spanning PLC programming, DDC controls, and system integration across manufacturing and field settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical controls engineering or related field; advanced leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical resource for HVAC control systems, PLC programming, DDC controls, and automation systems.
• Contribute to the technical vision and roadmap for controls engineering technologies, platforms, and standards.
• Develop and maintain company-wide controls engineering standards, design practices, documentation requirements, and reusable assets.
• Review control architectures, sequences of operation, and electrical designs for complex applications.
• Lead root-cause analyses and drive corrective actions across projects.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, UL, NFPA, ASHRAE and applicable standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote continuous improvement.
