Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a Lead HVAC and Building Systems Technician for Proviso East High School. You will oversee operation, maintenance, and repair of district heating, HVAC, steam, and mechanical systems, providing technical leadership and ensuring energy efficiency and safety.

The role requires 5–7 years in institutional HVAC with supervisory experience, BAS expertise, EPA 608 certification, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; HVAC trade certification preferred.
• 5–7 years in commercial or institutional HVAC maintenance with supervisory experience.
• EPA Section 608 refrigerant certification.
• Extensive BAS knowledge, schematics, and control strategies.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair HVAC and mechanical equipment across campus.
• Operate and optimize BAS for temperature, humidity, and scheduling.
• Lead maintenance programs and assign tasks to HVAC staff.
• Maintain gas-fired/steam systems and water treatment where applicable.
• Coordinate with electricians, plumbers, and custodial teams; document work orders.
