Job summary

Jacobs seeks an HV Underground Transmission Engineer to lead and support high‑voltage cabling projects in North America. You will design, specify, and review HV/EHV cable systems, work with global experts, and support business development and proposals.

The role emphasizes collaboration, coding on standards (IEC/IEEE/CIGRE) and real-world installation knowledge, with a hybrid work model combining Jacobs offices and remote locations.

Qualifications

• Requires 8+ years of direct underground/subsea cable design experience.
• Proficiency with electrical design studies and specifications.
• Willingness to travel within North America.

Responsibilities

• Develop HV/EHV cabling system specifications and design reviews.
• Provide technical support on HV cable system engineering.
• Prepare route specifications, reports, and progress updates.
• Coordinate interfaces with other engineering teams and clients.
• Attend meetings with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors.
• Support FAT/QA inspections and related testing.
