Zusammenfassung

Jacobs is seeking an HV Underground Transmission Engineer to join our team in North America. You will work with regional/global transmission and cable experts on ongoing projects, business development, and client engagement, focusing on high voltage underground and subsea cable design and installation.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in underground cabling, knowledge of IEC/IEEE/CIGRE standards, and proficiency with CYMCAP, with willingness to travel across North America.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical or related engineering discipline; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of direct experience with underground and/or subsea cable design and installation.
• Ability to work with cable design software such as CYMCAP.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE and CIGRE standards.
• Experience working with major global cable OEMs.
• Ability and willingness to travel within North America.

Aufgaben

• Develop HV/EHV cabling system specifications, concept/detailed design and design review, estimation, site supervision and support as required.
• Provide technical support to the team on all aspects of HV cable system engineering and design.
• Prepare specifications power cable route specifications, and reports and progress reports
• Confirm correct and accurate interface with other engineering functions involved in the projects
• Attend and conduct internal and external meetings with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors
• Support FAT/Test inspections.
• Perform technical calculations including cable size, rating calculations, EMF calculations, and related analyses
• Perform design reviews and verification of design.
• Ensure drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction
• Verify that inspection and test plans are completed as required by the specifications.
