Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team solving complex electric transmission challenges, designing HV and EHV overhead and underground systems for major utilities. You will apply NESC, ASCE, ACI and other standards, prepare bidding documents, plans, and procurement packages, and collaborate with clients, planning, environmental, permitting, and construction teams.

Ideal candidates will have a Civil Engineering degree, 4+ years in transmission design,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 4+ years in electric utility transmission design
• Experience reviewing transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, materials, plans and profiles
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC and ASCE code requirements; construction specifications; material procurement; project schedules and construction work packages
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
• Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams
• Willingness to travel or work at client offices
• Program expertise: PLS-CADD, POLE, LPILE or FAD Tools, Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Apply standards (NESC, ASCE, ACI) to overhead and underground systems
• Prepare bidding documents, plans, specifications, and procurement packages
• Interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel
• Collaborate within a Leidos multi-person team and interfacing with clients and internal teams
