Job summary

ISG seeks a Transmission Line Engineer in Bloomington, MN to design overhead transmission projects from concept through construction, using PLS-CADD and AutoCAD for 25kV+ systems. You will contribute to ISG's Power Group, shaping infrastructure that powers communities.

Responsibilities include developing detailed design packages, performing sag-tension and clearance analyses, coordinating with ROW and environmental teams, and ensuring compliance with NESC/IEEE/ASCE standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in design and analysis of transmission lines (25kV+).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain.
• Proficiency with high-voltage design and related standards (NESC, IEEE, ASCE).

Responsibilities

• Design transmission line routes, configurations, and structures (25 kV+).
• Perform structural analysis, sag-tension, and clearance checks.
• Develop detailed design packages for bidding, permitting, construction.
• Collaborate with ROW, environmental, and project management teams.
• Conduct site visits to assess terrain and constraints.
• Provide construction-phase support and address design changes.
• Maintain knowledge of client standards and industry best practices.
• Engage with clients through regular meetings with technical updates.
