Job summary

Dewberry in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Physical Electrical Engineer to lead the growth of our medium and high voltage substation design practice. This leadership role focuses on mentoring a high-performing team and delivering impactful projects for utilities, government entities, and private institutions.

You will oversee design packages, ensure compliance with NEC and NFPA Life Safety Codes, drive standards, and coordinate with the Energy PMO.

Qualifications

• BS in electrical engineering with PE license.
• 20+ years in medium/high voltage substation design.
• Experience producing design deliverables and leading teams.
• Knowledge of NEC/NFPA Life Safety Codes and utility standards.
• Strong communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to develop and capture new business.
• Lead design and technical oversight of substations.
• Coordinate with PMO and multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage project financials and schedules.
• Mentor staff and establish design standards.
• Ensure compliance with safety and constructability requirements.
