Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Physical Electrical Engineer / Principal Engineer in Owings Mills, MD to lead the design of medium and high voltage substations for utilities, government entities and private institutions.

You will mentor a high-performing team, establish design standards, oversee construction drawing packages, and ensure safety, constructability, and quality across projects with cross-discipline collaboration.

Qualifications

BS in electrical engineering.
20+ years of experience in medium/high voltage substation design.
PE license is required.
Experience with NEC and NFPA Life Safety Codes.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
Ability to manage design teams and client interfaces.

Responsibilities

Meet with prospective and existing clients to develop and capture new business.
Coordinate with Energy PMO leadership and energy client managers.
Develop responses to requests for proposals and qualifications, including cost proposals.
Serve as Project Manager for complex and volume-based projects.
Collaborate proactively with multi-discipline teams and offices.
Manage project financials and cash flow.
Assist with training and mentoring staff.
Provide technical and quality oversight and establish standards.
Monitor staffing and advise on current and future needs.
