Job summary

Ford Energy in Dearborn, MI is seeking a Senior Service Lab Technician for Battery Energy Storage Systems. The role diagnoses, tests, and develops service procedures in a workshop setting, bridging engineering, quality, and field service.

You will simulate fault conditions, conduct high-voltage safety oversight, mentor junior technicians, and contribute to RCA to improve reliability. Travel to field sites is possible.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical/ Electronics tech or equivalent.
• 5+ years in HV electrical systems or battery storage environments.
• Experience with CAN, Modbus, TCP/IP, Ethernet networks.
• Able to read schematics and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop SOPs, safety guides, and TSBs for field technicians.
• Document test logs, teardown results, and failure data.
• Perform high-level diagnostics and fault isolation on BESS components.
• Set up battery test equipment and validation test plans.
• Train field technicians on safety protocols and testing techniques.
