Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer for High Voltage Battery Software to drive BMS software development from prototype to production. You will bridge embedded software with power electronics, collaborating across engineering teams to ensure safety, efficiency, and performance.

The role requires strong experience in BMS, SoC/SoH/SOP state estimation, and fault diagnostics, with a focus on robust, auditable releases and real-time systems engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer/Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• 7+ years of experience in BMS development or energy storage systems.
• Deep understanding of Battery Management Systems including cell modeling and state estimation.
• Ability to translate high-level system requirements into low-level embedded hardware and software requirements.
• Proficiency with requirement management tools such as JAMA, Polarion, or 3DX.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional decomposition to translate vehicle-level requirements into BMS and energy storage requirements.
• Perform system analysis and simulations to architect robust BMS frameworks.
• Collaborate with safety teams to perform FMEA/FTA and safety analysis.
• Define verification procedures and pass/fail criteria for requirements verification.
• Leverage telemetry data to monitor battery performance and diagnose anomalies.
• Develop OTA software mitigations to improve safety and longevity.
• Own configuration management, versioning, and release processes.
