Job summary

Zoox is seeking a Powertrain HV Battery Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure world-class performance of the prototype and production battery supply base. You will drive continuous improvement, assess manufacturability, and manage supplier quality from prototype through end-of-line testing for high-voltage systems.

The role requires 3+ years in Quality or Supplier Quality, familiarity with HV battery manufacturing, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years in Quality, Supplier Quality or Manufacturing in automotive/aviation/medical devices.
• Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and quality systems improvement.
• Experience with HV battery manufacturing processes and related QA tools.
• Proficient in problem-solving methods (Six Sigma, 8D, Pareto, DOE, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Powertrain Engineering and Strategic Sourcing to select HV battery suppliers using assessments and audits.
• Travel ~30% to supplier sites and audits.
• Assess manufacturability of HV designs and assist suppliers in scalability.
• Manage product and process development with battery suppliers from prototype to EOL testing.
• Review PPAP submissions ensuring HV safety and performance tolerances.
• Issue 8D corrective actions for battery degradation or anomalies and drive resolution.
