Job summary

Orange EV LLC in Kansas City, KS is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure external components meet quality, safety, and reliability standards from sourcing through production, with emphasis on high‑voltage and battery parts. You will lead supplier audits, APQP/PPAP/FAI, and root‑cause problem solving.

This role collaborates with Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sourcing, drives supplier scorecards and corrective actions, and may travel domestically up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of supplier quality engineering experience, preferably in automotive/EV.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and capability analysis (Cpk/Ppk).
• Experience with root-cause analysis and corrective action methodologies (8D, 5-Why).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier audits and manage APQP/PPAP/FAI processes.
• Own supplier quality metrics, scorecards, and corrective actions (SCAR).
• Drive 8D, 5-Why, and fishbone analyses for supplier-caused quality issues.
• Collaborate with Design, Engineering, and Manufacturing to define critical part dimensions and testing requirements.
• Manage supplier portal and support internal and customer audits as needed.
