The Senior Human Resources Business Partner reports to the Plant Human Resources Manager and is responsible for building harmonious partnerships with employees and Hiring Managers across the organization. The role includes providing coaching and guidance on employee relations, engagement, team performance, learning & development, total rewards, and workforce planning. The individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Respond professionally to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting people services functions, ensuring compliance.
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, testing, selection, and orientation of new team members.
- Facilitate new hire orientation for hourly and salary employees.
- Administer and maintain personnel records, transactions (hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations), and team member statistics for government reporting.
- Administer benefits programs such as vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
- Assist with worker's compensation and safety issues.
- Prepare team member separation notices, conduct exit interviews, and analyze reasons behind separations.
- Interpret and manage UAW/Collective Bargaining Agreement and counsel management on CBA processes.
- Conduct employee relations investigations.
- Manage headcount according to operational needs.
- Support community events and recognition activities.
- Assist management in developing and tracking training plans for employees.
- Perform other duties as required.

Required Skills/Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) is mandatory plus 4+ years of HR experience or training.
- Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
- Ability to create reports and correspondence.
- Effective presentation and speaking skills.
- Apply common sense to instructions; handle problems involving multiple variables.
- Knowledge of HR systems, internet software, payroll systems, spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Technical experience with Ceridian/Dayforce software or similar HRIS/ATS systems is highly preferred.
- PHR or SPHR certification is a plus.
