Job Summary:

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will leverage business knowledge and HR expertise to manage transactional HR tasks for our Host Country Nationals. The HRBP will align business objectives with the needs of employees and management, providing a comprehensive range of HR support. This includes interpreting and translating between Arabic and English in a fast-paced, remote, and challenging environment. The HRBP will actively support and promote the company's vision, mission, and values.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with colleagues in the HR department to develop policies, programs, and solutions for the Host Country Nationals.
  • Consults with line management and provides HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Responsible for implementing employee discipline and corrective actions.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance and delivers performance management programs.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Works with international employees with expatriate assignments including deployment along with required visa requirements.
  • Responsible for talent management including employee recruitment, organizational structure, workforce planning, and employee onboarding of Host Country Nationals
  • Responsible for HRIS management working with information technology and corporate HRIS to resolve problems.
  • Maintains awareness of cultural concerns and implications; advises managers as necessary
  • Responsible for the administration of employee benefits.
  • Accomplishes key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Supervises 2-4 HR Associates.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bi-lingual Arabic - English language skills (read, write, and speak).
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • General knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
  • General knowledge of U.S. employment and labor law.
  • Thorough understanding of the Iraqi labor law, local labor laws, customs, and business practices
  • General knowledge of HRIS systems (Workday experience a plus).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have a bachelor's degree in related area with a minimum of 3 years of HR
  • experience - relevant experience can be considered in lieu of education.
  • Have at least one year of international experience.

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:

  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • May require bending, stooping, and lifting to 15 lbs.
  • The work location is in an extremely hot, austere, and potentially hostile environment.
