Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Data Science Advisor to lead enterprise data and analytics, directing Data Engineers and Scientists in a high-visibility government-focused program from San Diego, CA.

Expect rigorous methodologies, performance metrics, and executive-ready deliverables. The role requires a Master’s in a quantitative field (or equivalent), 8+ years of applicable experience, and strong Python/R and SQL skills.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience in data science, analytics, or research methods.
• Advanced proficiency in Python or R and SQL.
• Experience supervising or leading analysts.
• Ability to communicate with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the POTFF Enterprise Data and Analytics function and manage the analysts under your purview.
• Advise on research methodologies, data collection, study design, and program evaluation.
• Design and oversee government-directed program evaluations and ROI analyses with defensible methodology.
• Establish analytical standards, data governance, reporting methodologies, and performance metrics.
• Prepare reports and briefings for government leadership and decision makers.
