Job summary

SantaFe Qatar is seeking a Health & Safety Engineer to lead risk assessments, develop hygiene programs and ensure compliance with safety standards across projects in the GCC region.

Responsibilities include inspecting workplaces, training staff, and collaborating with engineers to mitigate hazardous conditions. Requires NEBOSH IGC, a bachelor’s or technical diploma, and First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Diploma in a relevant engineering field.
• NEBOSH IGC certification is required.
• Certification in IOSH Managing Safety or OSHA 30 Hours is desirable.
• Valid and current First Aid Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Suspend activities that pose threats to workers' health and safety.
• Recommend protective measures against hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
• Investigate workplace accidents to identify causes and prevent recurrence.
• Assess ventilation, exhaust systems, lighting, and other environmental factors affecting health and performance.
• Develop and maintain hygiene programs.
• Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices for compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with the Project Engineer to implement control/remedial measures for hazardous conditions or equipment.
• Conduct safety training and education programs; demonstrate proper use of safety equipment.
• Provide health and safety orientations for new employees; prepare relevant materials.
• Collect samples of dust, gases, vapors, and other toxic substances for analysis.
