Job summary

Airswift is seeking an HSE Advisor/Specialist IV to provide Health, Safety and Environmental leadership at a Richmond, CA site. The role emphasizes incident investigations, safeguard verification, and Management of Change with strong field engagement.

The position focuses on regulatory compliance, environmental controls, and operational excellence with no travel required and a 10-month assignment with potential extension. Schedule is 9/80s, every other Friday off.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive Health, Safety and Environmental experience across lab, industrial, manufacturing, chemical, energy or oil/gas operations.
• Experience influencing operational performance and driving HSE improvements across multiple sites and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide HSE guidance and support to operations, maintenance, project and contractor teams to promote safe, compliant operations.
• Identify critical risks, verify safeguards and reinforce safe work practices to prevent Serious Injuries and Fatalities.
• Conduct field engagements, observations and coaching focusing on high-risk work and permit-to-work.
• Support Job Safety Analysis, toolbox talks, pre-job planning, and Start Work Checks.
• Develop, implement, monitor and verify HSE programs, deliverables and performance expectations.
• Support assurance activities including safeguard verification, Management of Change, and regulatory compliance reviews.
• Track and close HSE findings and corrective actions; participate in audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead incident investigations using structured root-cause analysis and support incident classification and reporting.
