Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced HRBP/People Generalist to serve as the primary People point of contact for a high-growth client group in New York. The role will partner with managers on performance, development, engagement, and organizational questions while owning end-to-end employee relations matters.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of HRBP or People Generalist experience.
• Ability to ramp quickly and operate independently within an existing client group.
• Strong employee relations depth, including investigations, documentation, and risk assessment.
• Practical command of performance management, manager coaching, org design fundamentals, and compensation basics.
• Working knowledge of labor and employment law.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Comfort with people data, analytics, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary People point of contact for the assigned client group.
• Partner with managers and employees on performance, development, engagement, and organizational questions.
• Own employee relations matters end-to-end, including intake, investigation, documentation, and resolution.
• Coach managers through performance concerns, team dynamics, difficult conversations, and organizational changes.
• Carry in-flight People programs through completion, including performance cycles, talent reviews, compensation planning, and engagement survey follow-through.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, People Operations, Employee Experience, Compliance, and Legal teams.
• Support organizational changes, role changes, onboarding, and offboarding.
• Maintain documentation and a running handover record for the returning PBP.
• Flag risks and open items early.
• Provide parental leave coverage for approximately four months in an established client group.
