Job summary

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is seeking a Senior Director, HR Business Partner for the LIRR. The role directs HR strategies, policies, and services across multiple functions, ensuring compliance and strategic alignment with agency goals.

Responsibilities include leading the HRBP team, partnering with Talent Acquisition, and advising senior management on organizational design, succession, and employee relations. Telework up to one day/week is available.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices and business trends.
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
• Advanced PC applications and HR systems (Excel, Word, Visio and Peoplesoft) with ability to generate spreadsheets and analyze data.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact well with stakeholders and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Direct the planning, review, and execution of HR strategies for the agency.
• Lead the LIRR HRBP team and oversee recruitment strategy and organizational design.
• Advise senior management and align HR programs with business goals.
• Manage employee relations, investigations, and policy guidance.
