Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Commerce is seeking an Agency HR Consultant I (NS) to provide professional human resources consultation and operational support in recruitment, salary administration, HRIS/HCM transactions, and workforce reporting.

This role serves as a lead recruitment consultant for assigned units and advises hiring managers on strategies, screening, and referrals to ensure policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience with HRIS/Payroll systems and Personnel Actions.
• Experience with ATS/HCMS such as NEOGOV or Workday.
• Ability to identify data discrepancies and take corrective action.
• Ability to interpret HR policies and explain processes to staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional HR consultation and operational support in recruitment, salary administration, HRIS transactions, and reporting.
• Lead recruitment efforts for assigned units and advise hiring managers on strategies and referrals.
• Review actions and supporting docs to ensure compliance and proper processing.
• Collaborate with classification and compensation staff on salary matters.
