Rakuten Kobo Inc. is seeking a Sr. HR Business Process Optimization Specialist to act as an internal consultant across HR functions, focusing on process improvement and governance. This role emphasizes advisory work and enabling sustainable changes rather than day-to-day execution.

You will design and map processes, develop controls, and build documentation to sustain improvements across regions, partnering with HR teams worldwide and guiding workshops to deliver actionable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in process improvement or internal consulting within an HR environment.
• Lean and/or Six Sigma certification required (Green Belt minimum; Black Belt preferred).
• Experience leading end-to-end process improvement engagements without day-to-day execution ownership.
• Familiarity with HRIS platforms; Workday experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with HR functional teams to assess current-state processes and identify inefficiencies.
• Apply Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to diagnose root causes and design future-state solutions.
• Develop recommendations and improvement roadmaps; support functional teams through implementation and handoff.
