Job summary

Social Security Administration seeks a senior Human Resources Specialist to serve as a technical HR authority, independently planning, developing, and executing complex HR programs. You will support agency objectives with strategic policy initiatives and expert guidance.

The role provides authoritative consultation to senior management, leads agency-wide HR policy changes, mentors junior staff, and ensures compliance with federal HR regulations. Telework may be available per policy.

Qualifications

• Researching, developing and implementing HR employment policies, initiatives, and procedures.
• Setting priorities, assigning tasks to and mentoring junior staff, and reviewing completed work for completeness and accuracy.
• Collaborating with executives or other Federal agencies on HR processes and practices.
• Reviewing executive resources actions or programs for compliance with laws and policies.

Responsibilities

• Provides authoritative consultation to senior management and policy interpretation.
• Leads major HR policy initiatives with agency-wide impact.
• Oversees the agency's HR policy program for regulatory compliance.
• Develops strategic HR policy initiatives aligned with agency goals.
• Provides expert consultation to executive leadership on HR policy matters.
• Leads cross-functional teams for major HR policy changes.
• Evaluates impact of new or revised HR policies on operations and workforce.
• Serves as liaison with external stakeholders on HR policy issues.
• Mentors junior HR specialists and staff.
