Job summary

Gamma Phi Omega International in Shelton, CT is seeking a Senior HR Specialist to deliver a high-quality employee experience through HR administration, employee support, and leave management. You will serve as the primary contact for payroll, benefits, HR policies, and employee lifecycle processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional customer service.

This role partners with Payroll, Benefits, HR Business Partners, and a 3rd-party leave vendor to administer FMLA, STD, LTD, Workers'

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Approximately 5 years of experience in Human Resources, HR Operations, Employee Services, Benefits Administration, or related HR function.
• At least 1 year experience supporting leave administration including FMLA, disability programs, workers' compensation, and state leave laws.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries related to pay, benefits, HR policies, and time-off programs.
• Support onboarding activities, including preparing new hire documentation and facilitating onboarding processes.
• Maintain employee data within HRIS and work with Payroll/Benefits to resolve issues.
• Coordinate immigration-related processes with external counsel and vendors and manage documentation for immigration cases.
• Review, process, and monitor invoices from HR vendors and manage vendor relationships.
• Serve as internal administrator for all employee leave programs (FMLA, STD, LTD, Workers' Comp, Paid Leave).
• Monitor leave cases, advise on eligibility and return-to-work, and ensure compliance with regulations.
