Job summary

Project Harmony is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead operations and compliance, partnering with the COO and HR team to ensure policy alignment and lawful practices across the organization.

You will oversee payroll operations, audits, leave administration, HRIS data integrity, and workplace investigations, while maintaining confidentiality and high standards of professionalism in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive HR experience including HR operations, compliance, payroll.
• Experience handling employee relations, investigations, and policy interpretation.
• HRIS/HRMS experience with records management and reporting.
• Experience with nonprofit organizations a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure legal compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures.
• Lead employee relations, disciplinary actions, and investigations.
• Analyze HR data to support decision-making and compliance.
• Oversee HR data integrity and HRIS across platforms.
• Partner with COO to oversee payroll, audits, and leave administration.
• Oversee leave/ADA/STD/LTD and return-to-work requirements.
• Support audits and implement process improvements.
• Interpret policies with leaders and address concerns.
• Improve HR systems for efficiency and accuracy.
• Ensure culturally competent services for families served.
• Other duties as assigned.
