Job summary

Brobston Group is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead HR operations across multiple states and support a growing retail-focused organization. You will partner with business leaders to scale systems, policies, and employee programs while maintaining hands-on execution.

The role requires deep expertise in payroll, benefits, employee relations, compliance, and HRIS administration, with a strategic lens on workforce development and performance management.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive HR experience in a multistate organization.
• Experience managing multistate payroll and benefits and supporting hourly and salaried employees.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR compliance, employee relations, and performance management.
• Experience advising senior leaders and administering an HRIS; Rippling experience is preferred.
• Strong judgment, discretion, organization, communication, and ability to balance strategic work with hands-on execution.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; advanced degree or HR certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead employee lifecycle operations, including onboarding, payroll, benefits, employee relations, leaves, compliance, and offboarding.
• Own HRIS administration, data integrity, and process improvements.
• Advise leaders on employee relations, performance, organizational changes, and workforce matters.
• Support retail leadership on talent, performance, employee relations, and workforce needs.
• Develop HR policies, performance management, talent development, compensation, and engagement practices.
• Manage relationships with benefits, HRIS, payroll, and other external vendors.
