Job summary

Chesapeake, Inc. is seeking an experienced HR professional to join our city operations team. The role requires a blend of education and professional experience in HR, management, or public administration to drive people strategies.

The candidate should have at least five years of experience, a valid driver’s license, and be prepared for emergency-response workloads and potential after-hours work to support city-wide needs.

Qualifications

• Requires combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in human resources, management, public administration, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of five years of related, professional, full-time equivalent experience.
• Requires a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is in compliance with City Driving Standards.
• Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, and/or SPHR designations are preferred.
