Job summary

City of Deltona is seeking a Sr. Human Resources Generalist to administer HR programs, oversee benefits and payroll processes, and lead recruitment in a municipal setting.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a related field and 5+ years of HR experience, with familiarity in ATS and HRIS systems (Tyler, Neogov preferred). The position offers a 36-hour work week, with strong emphasis on accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Human Resources, Business, or closely related field.
• Requires 5+ years of experience in human resources, recruitment, or benefits administration preferably in a government setting.
• Experience with applicant tracking systems and HR management systems (Tyler and Neogov highly preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs.
• Develop and update job descriptions and specifications.
• Source and attract candidates through recruitment activities and postings.
• Screen resumes and applications and conduct interviews (structured, competency-based, behavioral).
• Onboard new employees and volunteers, including I-9 verification and E-Verify compliance.
• Administer employee benefits programs and retirement plans.
• Coordinate Open Enrollment and serve as Benefits Administrator.
