Job summary

Gfoat in Hutchins, TX is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to perform professional-level work across recruitment, employee relations, benefits, payroll, and HRIS support. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and city policies, serving as a key resource to employees and management.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of HR experience, including payroll administration. PHR/SHRM-CP/IPMA-HR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible human resources experience, including payroll administration (public sector preferred).
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or IPMA-HR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer recruitment and selection processes including job postings, applicant screening, interviews, background checks, and onboarding.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding benefits, policies, leave, payroll, and general HR matters.
  • Process payroll accurately and timely, including hours, leave accruals, deductions, garnishments, and adjustment.
  • Maintain personnel and payroll records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with records retention requirements.
  • Assist with benefits administration including enrollments, changes, open enrollment, and coordination with benefit providers.
  • Assist with employee relations matters including investigations, disciplinary actions, and grievance processes.
  • Support performance management processes including evaluations, probation tracking, and documentation.
  • Process HR transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, pay changes, and separations in the HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, COBRA, EEO, ADA, TWC, etc.).
  • Coordinate and track employee training, certifications, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with clarification, compensation studies, and policy development.
  • Prepare HR and payroll reports, audits, and statistical data as needed.
  • Participate in safety programs, and employee recognition programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

This position serves as a key resource to employees and management while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment
laws and city policies.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
