Job summary

Kelly Services is seeking a Senior HR Generalist – Labor Relations to support a busy unionized manufacturing facility in Eau Claire, WI. This hands-on HR role works directly with employees, supervisors, site leadership, and union representatives to manage labor relations and HR compliance.

The ideal candidate has strong labor relations, investigations, grievance handling, and HR compliance experience, plus the ability to coach managers and collaborate with leadership on workforce planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Labor Relations, or a related field.
• 5–8+ years of progressive HR experience.
• 3+ years supporting a unionized manufacturing environment.
• Strong labor relations, investigations, grievances, and employee relations experience.
• Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and employment law.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR partner for the facility and support both hourly and salaried employees.
• Interpret and administer the CBA and assist with grievances and labor-management issues.
• Partner with leadership on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary actions, attendance, and workplace conflicts.
• Conduct thorough and confidential investigations involving employee complaints, misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and policy violations.
• Coach supervisors and managers on employee relations, labor laws, policies, and effective employee communication.
• Support onboarding, employee changes, transfers, promotions, separations, HRIS administration, and employee records.
• Partner with leadership on staffing, workforce planning, employee engagement, retention, and training.
• Support compliance with employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, OSHA, workers' compensation, and wage and hour requirements.
• Participate in labor-management meetings and provide support for negotiations, arbitrations, and other labor-related matters.
• Track HR metrics and identify trends involving turnover, absenteeism, employee relations, and workforce needs.
