Job summary

HRtoGO is seeking a Senior HR Generalist in California to serve as a trusted client partner under the guidance of an HR Consultant. You will provide comprehensive, compliance-driven HR guidance and implement tailored solutions aligning with federal, state, and local law.

This role involves independent decision-making, handling employee relations matters, conducting policy analyses, and developing client-ready HR policies and handbooks. Hybrid work is available after an initial onboarding period.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of generalist HR experience with emphasis in employee relations and labor law.
• Ability to interpret state and federal law in HR policies and decisions.
• Flexible schedule based on client needs; excellent communication skills.
• PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports consultants by advising clients on wage and hour laws, employee relations, and compliance with labor laws.
• Interprets and applies labor laws (FMLA, CFRA, ADA, FEHA, PDL, wage and hour) to HR policies.
• Conducts HR audits and risk assessments, and implements corrective actions.
• Leads employee relations matters including investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
• Develops and updates customized HR policies and handbooks for clients.
