Job summary

Associated Housewrights, a premier residential design-build firm in the Madison area, is seeking a Senior HR Generalist to own day-to-day HR operations and partner with leadership on people strategies. You will independently manage recruiting, benefits, compliance, and employee relations to enable growth and retention.

The role blends hands-on HR execution with strategic initiatives, focusing on developing practical solutions and strengthening the employee experience across the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience across multiple areas.
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred.
• SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own and run day-to-day HR activities including policies, employee relations, and performance issues.
• Lead recruiting, interviewing, offers, onboarding, and new-hire processes.
• Administer benefits, leave programs, and HR communications.
• Maintain HR records, compliance, and HR systems.
• Support safety, workers’ compensation, and OSHA documentation.
• Partner with leadership on workforce planning and people strategies.
• Develop engagement, retention, development, and recognition initiatives.
• Use data to identify trends and inform improvements.
