Job Summary

Responsible for assisting the Human Resources Manager in developing, implementing, and coordinating policies and programs concerning associate relations/goodwill, recruitment, regulatory compliance, leadership & team development, compensation, communication, and recognition. Partner with Human Resources Manager in maximizing the strategic use of human resources. This role performs the same responsibilities as the HR Generalist and supervises 1-3 HR team members.

Essential Accountabilities
  • Lead a small team on the HR staff, managing priorities, performance, and development.
  • Advise managers in organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity, harassment, and other regulatory compliance matters, and recommend corrective action where required.
  • Analyze HR metrics and provide data-driven insights and propose solutions for implementation to achieve desired results.
  • Responsible for providing effective conflict resolution when dealing with associates. Closely monitor the company discipline procedure to maintain consistency.
  • Conduct investigations on significant employee matters and recommend resolutions to the HR Manager.
  • Ensure effective handling of terminations and all related paperwork. Conduct exit meetings as applicable. May participate in unemployment hearings.
  • Develop and implement recruiting strategies to attract hourly talent and for assigned salaried positions.
  • Follow and implement recruiting processes, manage posting and interview processes, facilitate selection decisions, and extend offers to candidates.
  • Develop a network of recruiting resources as needed.
  • Conduct onboarding activities to effectively acclimate new associates to Rockline.
  • Organize and promote company programs to foster positive associate relations.
  • Assist with creating and updating policies and procedures under the guidance of the HR Manager.
  • Administer the Hourly Performance Review system, ensuring reviews are completed timely.
  • Coordinate with the HR Manager and Training Department to support associate performance development, including the Rockline Tuition Reimbursement Program and individual counseling.
  • Understand benefit programs and respond to associate questions.
  • Direct associates to appropriate resources for leaves of absence, including FMLA, Medical, Military, Bereavement, and Jury Duty.
  • Work closely with the HR Manager on ADA and permanent restriction discussions/decisions.

  • Ensure all work is performed safely, contributing to a safe work environment.
  • Contribute to a cooperative working effort by performing other job-related work as needed or requested.
Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent HR experience.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Human Resources, with 3 years as an HR Generalist, preferably in manufacturing, covering recruitment, employee relations, benefits, and engagement.
  • Strong understanding of compensation and performance review systems.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of social compliance audits and ability to lead audits preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of HR laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to present information clearly and respond to questions effectively.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
