Job summary

Texas Life Insurance Company seeks an experienced Human Resources Director to serve as the senior HR leader, aligning people strategies with business goals. You will partner with leaders across Texas Life and collaborate with Wilton Re Group’s HR function to drive workforce planning, talent management, and total rewards.

You will guide employee relations, performance management, onboarding, and HR operations, while coaching managers and ensuring compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience including HR business partner or generalist roles.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Experience supporting managers in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage employee relations matters with sound judgment and discretion.
• HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary HR advisor to Texas Life leadership, providing strategic guidance on organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, and employee-related matters.
• Coach managers on leadership effectiveness, employee development, team performance, and organizational change.
• Lead complex employee relations matters, investigations, and disciplinary actions.
• Oversee recruitment priorities, onboarding, and talent reviews in partnership with leaders.
• Develop compensation and benefits strategies with Total Rewards partners and analyze workforce data.
• Drive employee engagement and development programs to strengthen culture and retention.
• Lead HR operations through the Sr. HR Specialist and ensure compliant, efficient services.
• Contribute to budget planning and resource allocation for HR initiatives.
