Job description

Senior HR Business Partner

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States

Compensation Range: $120,000 - 130,000 per year

Onsite Status: Hybrid role (combination of WFH and in-person work)

Essential Job Responsibilities:
  1. Establish and drive HR programs and talent initiatives aligned with business objectives across divisions and functions.
  2. Manage change within the HRIS system, including pay changes, transfers, retirements, and terminations.
  3. Partner with HR management to improve performance through coaching, counseling, and problem evaluation.
  4. Collaborate with leadership to foster a culture of engagement and excellence.
  5. Handle employee relations issues, including coaching, development, and disciplinary actions.
  6. Assist with managing leaves of absence, including FMLA, state leaves, and workers' compensation.
  7. Serve as escalation point for employee relations and leave questions.
  8. Develop and implement recruiting strategies, manage ATS, and oversee onboarding processes.
  9. Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and federal/state regulations.
  10. Contribute to talent development programs, succession planning, and performance management.
  11. Maintain legal compliance and partner with legal department as needed.
  12. Update and develop HR policies, procedures, and forms.
  13. Participate in implementing and maintaining HRIS systems.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 8 years of HR experience.
  • At least 4 years in strategic HR leadership, including labor relations in union and non-union environments.
  • Experience in shipping, logistics, or transportation preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws (ADA, ADEA, EEO, FMLA, OSHA, etc.).
  • Experience with ADP and Kronos is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
