The Senior Human Resource Business Partner will establish and drive HR programs and talent initiatives within specific divisions, aligning with Carrix/SSA Marine business objectives. This role operates across all levels of the HR spectrum—strategic, operational, and tactical—and influences effectively across the company. The position requires navigating ambiguity, establishing buy-in, and introducing structure without disrupting current operations. It aligns the global talent strategy with division priorities to drive results and actively participates on the functional leadership team.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing change management within the HRIS system for managers, including pay changes, transfers, retirements, and terminations, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
- Partnering with HR management to improve performance through problem identification, solution evaluation, implementation, coaching, and counseling.
- Collaborating with leadership to foster a culture of excellence, engagement, and inspiration for top business results.
- Partnering on employee relations issues, including coaching, development, corrective actions, grievances, and terminations.
- Assisting in reviewing and managing leaves of absence, including FMLA, State Leave, WC, etc., acting as a point of escalation for related questions.
- Developing and implementing recruiting strategies, managing recruiting processes, creating job descriptions, offer letters, and coordinating with the compensation team.
- Overseeing the Recruiting Management ATS for offer creation and onboarding processes.
- Ensuring compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements and federal and state regulations.
- Participating in the development of talent programs such as recruiting, retention, compensation, performance management, succession planning, and training.
- Partnering to identify key performers and growth potential for succession planning.
- Maintaining knowledge of legal requirements related to employee management and partnering with legal as needed.
- Updating HR policies and procedures in collaboration with senior HR staff to ensure currency and best practices.
- Conducting management and employee training on performance management, safety, harassment, and policies.
- Responding to inquiries, educating employees on HR practices, and updating HR forms and processes.
- Implementing and maintaining HRIS systems, including setup, best practices, and ongoing maintenance.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
