Job summary

The City of Sacramento Human Resources Department, Employment Services Division is seeking a knowledgeable, analytical, and motivated Senior Personnel Analyst. This supervisory-level role provides technical leadership, oversight, and training to personnel staff while handling advanced HR work in classification, compensation, planning, and policy interpretation.

Qualifications

• Three years of professional-level human resources management experience in recruitment/selection, classification and compensation, career development, or benefits.
• A Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, human resources, or related field.
• A Master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Experience in a public-sector agency is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership, oversight, training, and support to personnel staff.
• Perform advanced HR work in classification, compensation, workforce planning, job analysis, salary surveys, and policy interpretation.
• Oversee recruitment and selection activities; lead special projects and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with Civil Service Rules, labor agreements, policies, and employment laws.
