Job summary

The City of San José Fire Department seeks a Senior Analyst in the Bureau of Administrative Services to lead recruitment, staffing, data analytics, and strategic workforce initiatives for a large public safety department of this city.

Expect oversight of budgets, contracts, and HR memoranda, with supervisory responsibility over an Analyst I/II and a Staff Specialist. Strong judgment and initiative are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: Four (4) years of progressively responsible management/administrative analytic work in budget, finance, grant administration, organizational analysis, general administration, human resources, or related field.
• Substitution: One (1) year of additional education may substitute for one year of the required work experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead executive-level recruitments and support recruitment and hiring activities across the Department.
• Provide workforce forecasting, recruitment prioritization, and strategic recruitment and outreach initiatives.
• Oversee an annual program budget of approximately $400,000 and act as HR liaison to the City’s HR Department.
