Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience administering large HPC clusters and Linux systems.
• Experience designing and operating petabyte-scale parallel file systems (Lustre, Ceph, GPFS).
• Scripting and automation with Bash and Python; using Ansible, CFEngine, Git.
• Knowledge of HPC middleware (Slurm, PBS, HPCM, Bright Cluster Manager).
• TCP/IP networking knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and operate SDSC HPC compute clusters and storage.
• Maintain performance, reliability, and availability across national, state, and campus levels.
• Plan lifecycles: deployment, upgrades, decommissioning.
• Develop scripts and tools to improve automation and monitoring.
• Coordinate security practices with SDSC teams.
