The University of Chicago RCC seeks a Senior HPC System Administrator to design, deploy, and manage scalable HPC infrastructure. You will lead installation, configuration, and maintenance of OS, HPC software stacks, and job scheduling tools, with hybrid work requiring 3 days on-site.

Responsibilities include monitoring, backups, security, and collaboration with vendors to keep HPC resources robust for researchers.

Qualifications

• Education: college/university degree in related field.
• 5–7 years of work experience in a related discipline.
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced roles.

Responsabilités

• Install, configure, maintain large clusters and HPC software stacks.
• Operate production servers and Windows/Linux environments.
• Monitor systems, manage backups, and ensure security.
• Collaborate with vendors and assist users via help desk.
• Automate tasks and deploy open-source and vendor software.
